Yohanna Báez
yohanna emelinda báez is a Dominican-born, Los Angeles-raised, award-winning Queer artist in New York.She won the Urbanworld Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for Best Screenplay and participated in the 2022 Tribeca Festival's Creators Market, the Gotham Week Project Market, and the 2023 Stowe Story Labs with her podcast All Night Deli.
yohanna is expanding the All Night Deli universe, by developing a video game, a manga, and live-action side story expanding the universe (check out the proof of concept short film, a gripping descent into cosmic horror, paranoia, and betrayal, The Smuggler’s Memoirs). She is also slowly coding an art installation about the attention economy in reference to Caribbean history.She is a former production assistant for a large number of music videos, short films, commercials, and various shows for PBS, OWN, The History Channel, and BBC Worldwide. In addition, yohanna created a short experimental documentary about tourism and climate change in her native Dominican Republic. It was shown at a few festivals and can be requested at CUNY's Dominican Studies Institute Research Library.Currently, I'm the Media Production Manager for a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization.
